Artist Statement｜作品について
日常の風景の中にある、人の気配や時間の痕跡に関心を寄せている。
そこに確かに存在していたものが、時の流れとともに姿を変え、やがて見えなくなっていく。
写真は、一瞬をとどめると同時に、目には見えない時間や存在について考えるための表現でもあると感じている。
身近な人々や風景、港を行き交う船、光と影の移ろいを通して、存在すること、そして過ぎ去っていくことを見つめている。
Biography｜プロフィール
神戸を拠点に活動する写真家。
編集、グラフィックデザイン、Web制作など、長年にわたり視覚表現に関わる仕事に携わる。
1992年、Studio FINEを設立。デザインやWeb制作を中心に活動する一方、写真撮影にも取り組んできた。
かつて写真とは異なる分野で表現活動を志していたが、さまざまな事情により中断。長い年月を経て、再び自分自身の表現と向き合うことを決意する。
2018年、京都造形芸術大学（現・京都芸術大学）の写真コースに入学。写真を技術としてだけでなく、自分の考えや感覚を表現する手段として学び、2024年3月に卒業。
現在は、人の存在や気配、風景の中に流れる時間を主題に、写真作品の制作と発表を続けている。

Artist Statement
My photographic practice explores traces of human presence and the passage of time within everyday landscapes.
I am drawn to things that once existed in a particular place, yet gradually change, fade, or disappear.
For me, photography is not only a way of preserving a moment. It is also a means of contemplating what cannot be seen directly: time, memory, and the fragile nature of presence.
Through people, familiar landscapes, passing ships, and shifting light and shadow, I explore the relationship between what remains and what passes away.
Biography
Yukiko Tanaka is a photographer based in Kobe, Japan.
Her background spans editorial work, graphic design, and web production. In 1992, she established Studio FINE, where she has worked across visual communication and digital media.
After many years away from pursuing her own artistic expression, she returned to creative practice through photography.
In 2018, she began studying photography at Kyoto University of Art and Design (now Kyoto University of the Arts), graduating in March 2024.
Through her studies, she discovered photography not only as a technical medium but also as a means of personal expression.
Her current work explores human presence, the passage of time, and the subtle transformations of everyday landscapes.
She continues to develop and exhibit photographic works in Japan.
